As a State Visual Merchandiser at General Pants Co. you are responsible for supporting and training the Visual Merchandising department out in the field within a fast-paced environment that constantly challenges your ability to adapt to the business needs.

You will optimise and showcase the product in our stores to drive maximum sales and customer relations with particular focus on mannequin styling, outfit builds, windows and key promotional areas.

You will support and assist with training of the General Pants Visual Merchandising guidelines across the retail stores business. You will ensure that you challenge and drive each stores success using all available commercial tools ensuring each brand performance is considered and directives are challenged where appropriate.

About the role...

  • You will be responsible for ensuring all VM display is to a high standard
  • Utilise your understanding on how VM drives sales and find new and exciting ways to attract customers
  • Adapt to the business needs in fast and efficient timeframes e.g. promo set ups, markdowns, seasonal sale set-ups, VM directives
  • Assist with setting up new directions and merch days to help deliver a consistent message to your team and the wider business
  • You will work with relevant departments to ensure that stock placement is tailored to your stores “look and feel” to meet specific limitations and demographics
  • Analysis of product placement in accordance with store reports and take action to address stock performance issues that may impact your stores sales performance

About you...

  • Degree or diploma in fashion or related field
  • Genuine love, experience and understanding of fashion and retail industry
  • Strong organisation and management skills
  • Visual Merchandising Management/Supervisory experience across multiple fashion stores
  • Strong knowledge of local demographics in terms of customers and competitors
  • Proven experience in coaching and developing & individuals and their skill sets
  • MS office skills – Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, In-design and Illustrator
  • Eagerness to build personal & professional brand
  • Self-starter – driven to make a mark, leave the role bigger then when you started it
  • Actively seek and take on feedback to get better 
  • Excited to play a part in others learning and generous in sharing knowledge 
  • Open to mentoring, coaching & hungry to learn from others
